Yvonne Coldeweijer and Eric de Munck broke up before the start of her daily program De Juice, he confirms to TV critic Victor Vlam. “According to rumors there is a big fight.”
It is unprecedented: the daily Yvonne Coldeweijer show becomes De Juice postponed for the second time. The program was actually supposed to start in September, which was postponed to January 5 and now it has been postponed even further. Net5 cannot even provide a new start date at the moment. What amateurism.
Bonje with Eric
What’s going on? Eric de Munck, who gave up his job at RTL Boulevard to work for Yvonne, is out as editor-in-chief. “Eric de Munck has abruptly resigned as editor-in-chief of De Juice. He has just confirmed this to me,” writes TV critic Victor Vlam. X.
“He just wants to say that he is no longer on the same page as Yvonne. But according to the rumor mill, there is a big fight behind the scenes.”
No chance
What was that receipt about? Victor: “According to unconfirmed rumors, Eric was frustrated about working with Yvonne. He couldn’t get anything done with her. That would be the reason that the program had to be postponed for the second time.”
“There is also dissatisfaction among the rest of the team. They feel abandoned. The channel should have intervened. There are people who have terminated their permanent contracts to be part of this project. With so much hassle behind the scenes, the question is whether this program does not have a chance in advance.”
Adjustment?
RTL Boulevard star Luuk Ikink thinks it is unprecedented. “We also asked Talpa: ‘Does a postponement really mean a cancellation?’, and they do not want to comment on that either. It does not sound very hopeful, of course, because it is already the second time that the program has now been postponed,” he says in the show section.
Reporter Aran Bade: “It sounds like things aren’t going quite well editorially.”
Luuk: “No, things are not going well there, no.”
Argument in the tent
TV authority Tina Nijkamp, the channel boss of SBS 6 for many years, finds this bizarre. “Ah okay. Argument in the tent. Well, John de Mol and Net5 will regret this show. So much hassle (months of preparation too!) for a program of only half an hour a day (only 1 commercial break) before it is on the air.”
She continues on her analysis channel: “I haven’t actually seen this kind of stuff very often. Even at RTL Tonight it runs a lot smoother. There is a good chance that this will not continue in the first place. Perhaps a case of ‘we have jointly decided that…’”
Four or five tons
Wilfred Genee sets Today Inside that Yvonne is not yet worth her lucrative reward. “The strange thing is: this week there was someone here who knows a lot about TV – I won’t mention any names of course – but she said that she had also signed a ridiculously good contract. Four or five thousand euros or something. You can’t just dismiss that, right?”
Johan Derksen: “Then John de Mol has serious plans for her, but I actually think it’s a bit of a mockery for Talpa. Those board members who are there say ‘yes and amen’ to everything, but De Mol has much more use for board members who are critical.”
Colleague René van der Gijp laughs: “Yes, there were, but they no longer work there!”
