Alderman for the Environment Chris Delneste is satisfied with the extra transition period.
“We received exceptional permission from IMOG to keep our municipal recycling park open for another year, so that the transition can be properly prepared,” he says. “From 2027, Kuurne residents can go to all IMOG parks. The municipal park will then only accept free fractions.”
However, not all benefits disappear. The municipality is investigating solutions for certain waste types that move from free to paying.
“Among other things, we are looking at a solution for offering soft greenery,” says Delneste.
