THE‘2026 edition of Lavazza calendar “Pleasure Makes Us Human” shot by Alex Webb tells a bright, lively and authentic Italiannessmade up of village squares, bowling alleys, ferries, popular festivals and daily moments in which sociality is born around a coffee.

The 2026 Lavazza Calendar

The project, developed with creative direction by Michele Marianiis a journey in 12 stages that returns a sort of “sweet contemporary life”: not nostalgic, but real, imperfect and full of energy. Webb stages real situations, where every gesture really happens, while the cup – never a forced protagonist – becomes a natural part of the story.

Lavazza thus renews a thirty-year tradition, confirming the centrality of photography as a language capable of interpreting the present. The theme chosen for 2025 is lightness, understood as the ability to grasp beauty even when it seems to be missing around us.

The Calendar had its world premiere today on December 4th at Art Basel Miami Beachtogether with Webb and François Hébel: a symbolic milestone that celebrates the international journey of the historic Lavazza initiative, today more than ever a bridge between visual culture, creativity and Italian taste.

Italy seen by Alex Webb

The gaze of Alex Webb, one of the masters of documentary photography, tells of a journey to the Bel Paese. His approach, recognizable and unmistakable, is based on “real” images, constructed not through artifice, but by letting life happen in front of the lens: children running, repeated dives until they become perfect in their imperfection, spontaneous gestures captured in the natural flow of the scene.

The cup of coffee, a distinctive element of Lavazza imagery, is present but never intrusive: it fits into the story as part of everyday life, without ever trying to be the forced protagonist.

Webb brings all the richness of his photographic language to the project: intense colours, choral scenes, dynamism, deep contrasts. His images are not just meant to be looked at, but to be walked through. The viewer has the sensation of entering the scene, of almost being able to hear the voices, the noises, the changing light.

The 2026 Lavazza Calendar tells of an Italy made up of moments, captured with sensitivity and respect, and which finds in coffee is not a symbol to be displayed, but a natural travel companion in everyday life.
