From refugee to feared clan boss: The first trailer for “4 Blocks: Zero” reveals the spectacular backstory of the Hamady brothers in Berlin.

When the series “4 Blocks” was released in 2017, it immediately caused a sensation. Now fans can rejoice because the “4 Blocks” universe is being expanded. “4 Blocks: Zero” is a prequel series, for which the first trailer has now been released.

“4 Blocks” is considered one of the most popular and successful German series of recent years. The series was authentically staged, powerfully told and drew attention with a certain uncompromising attitude. She talked about the Arab clan leader Toni Hamady, embodied by Kida Khodr Ramadan, and took up the world of organized clan crime – a topic that has become an integral part of society, especially today.

To the chagrin of many fans, the scope of the series was manageable: it ended in 2019 after just three seasons. The makers emphasized from the start that they didn’t want to overextend the project. But now it is clear that the “4 Blocks” universe is entering the next round with a prequel.

Now the backstory is told

“4 Blocks: Zero” sheds light on the previously untold backstory of Toni Hamady and his three brothers Abdel, embodied by Veysel Gelin, Khalil (Hassan Akouch) and Amir (Said Amadis). The story deals with the family’s escape from Lebanon in the 1990s and their subsequent attempts to establish themselves in Germany. The Hamadys struggle to gain a foothold in Berlin – the beginning of a criminal career. Soon the whole of Neukölln will fear the Hamady clan.

It is still unclear who will follow in Kida Khodr Ramadan’s footsteps as Toni Hamady. One thing is certain, however: the legacy will be heavy. The exact start date of the series is also unclear. What is certain, however, is that “4 Blocks: Zero” will start on HBO Max.
