Borussia Dortmund has extended the contract of goalkeeper Alexander Meyer (34) by another year. The representative of Gregor Kobel (27) signed a new working paper until June 30, 2027. Meyer, who moved to the black and yellow from Jahn Regensburg on a free transfer in the summer of 2022, has made 25 appearances for BVB to date, in which he has kept seven clean sheets.
“We are pleased that Alex will continue to be part of Borussia Dortmund. He is an absolute asset to our team. Not only because he is a very good goalkeeper, but also a great personality. In recent years, Alex has proven that he can always be relied on,” said sports director Sebastian Kehl.
Meyer added: “Dortmund now feels like home to me. Over the past three and a half years I have experienced many special moments with the club, for which I am very grateful. The discussions with the club management were characterized by mutual trust and great appreciation. It means a lot to me to continue to be part of Borussia Dortmund.”
