Trainer and technical director Andries Jonker is already busy with the selection for next season and told NH Sport more about the current state of affairs. The most important news is that midfielder Sven van Doorm has indicated that he wants to take a step higher and is therefore leaving Velsen Zuid.

“He thinks he is ready for a new challenge,” says Jonker about all-rounder Van Doorm. I can well imagine that. He’s a great player and has had some good years.”
April 1 deadline
According to the agreed collective labor agreement in professional football, clubs are obliged to make a decision before 1 April regarding expiring contracts of personnel. This happens every year and does not mean that the players are actually said goodbye. “We have already reached an agreement here and there. It is too early to name names. We would like to complete the formalities first and that time was too short,” said Jonker.

Season 2022 -2023
Rashaan Fernandes is leaving Telstar this summer and is moving to Go Ahead Eagles and Sven van Doorm has therefore indicated that he will leave. Jonker is therefore already busy with the selection for 2022-2023. “At the moment we have 14 players for next season. We aim for a group of 24. So we have to get ten more players. That can be from players whose contracts are expiring or new players,” said Jonker.
The trainer also told today that Jay Kruiver’s option has been lifted. He is under contract until mid-2024.
