Today will be the very last on Radio Drenthe Karstival broadcast. Last week the final episode aired with René Karst himself, today Tommas Eggens presents a special, honorable final broadcast. “It will be a show in the spirit of René,” says Eggens.
The broadcast is from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Memories and anecdotes
“Karstival was always cheerful and pleasant, we want to keep that going, but of course it is also sad. It will be a broadcast with a laugh and a tear,” says Eggens
The broadcast will be a mix of familiar sections and memories of Karst. Together with Andries Jelle de Jong who is in Karstival always reported the latest showbiz news, Eggens looks back on anecdotes, including about Karst’s jacket collection and the story behind his iconic green glasses.
Singer Stef Ekkel will also join us. He scored the hit together with Karst Rather too thick in the box. In addition, listeners share personal memories: encounters with Karst, stories of performances and moments that have stayed with them.
Musically it will be a varied broadcast. “We will play music by Karst himself, for example his party songs and songs from his country album. We will also play songs that he liked, for example from Hans Vermeulen to The Beach Boys.”
René Karst died unexpectedly on Friday, November 21, in his hometown of Hoogeveen. In addition to his musical career, he was committed to numerous social causes. For example, he was an ambassador for the Reading and Writing Foundation and supported the Cliniclowns. Karst was 59 years old.
