Mendoza was the national headquarters of the celebration of the International Women’s Entrepreneur’s Day (WED), in a day organized by WEDO Argentina together with the Directorate of Entrepreneurs and Cooperatives of the provincial Ministry of Production. The event marked a milestone with two novelties: the appointment of the first WEDO Mendoza Ambassador through a participatory process and the launch of WEDO’s artificial intelligence program in Spanish.
Entrepreneurial Women’s Day is a global initiative that has been celebrated every November 19 in more than 140 countries since 2014. In Argentina, the movement arrived in 2016 at the hands of Cecilia Ribecco, who brought it as Country Ambassador and consolidated it with a federal agenda. Her leadership led her to occupy the global presidency of WEDO ambassadors in more than 144 countries, positioning her as one of the main Latin American leaders of the movement.
Innovative election and new leadership
For the first time in our country, the designation of WEDO Ambassador was made through open self-nomination. More than 50 Mendoza entrepreneurs participated in a process that combined networking, preselection through a jury made up of important references and online public voting.
After the evaluation, Paula Pia Ariet was announced as WEDO Ambassador of Mendoza for 2026. The Advisory Committee of said province was also formed, made up of Elena Alonso, Patricia Soria, Analía Funes Peleitay, Carolina Fadrique and María José Urdaneta, a team that will promote activities and alliances throughout next year.
Accessible AI for entrepreneurs
Cecilia Ribecco presented the WEDO artificial intelligence program in Spanishdesigned for entrepreneurs to incorporate AI in an accessible way that is aligned with their business models.
The program offers content, tools and training experiences designed especially for the Latin American context, transforming technology into a concrete ally to grow, make better decisions and open new markets.

Strategic alliances for change
Ribecco highlighted the work articulated with the Directorate of Entrepreneurs and Cooperatives, led by Andrea Nallim, and the support of the Ministry of Production of Mendoza. She stressed that these alliances between the public sector, networks of entrepreneurs and civil society organizations are essential to sustain long-term policies that promote women’s leadership and productive development with a gender perspective.
The celebration in Mendoza made it clear that 19N is not just a date, but a starting point to multiply opportunities. With a new ambassador, a committed advisory committee and an AI program in Spanish, WEDO Argentina reaffirms its mission: to make visible, connect and empower women who undertake and build a future throughout the country.
