Early shock and three times post
Crime against St. Pauli: FC Bayern prevents mistakes

The game begins with a shock for the Munich team. What follows are angry reactions – and the guests leave the favorite in despair for a long time.
That was close for the German record champions: FC Bayern avoided a mistake in stoppage time on matchday 12 of the Bundesliga and beat FC St. Pauli 3-1 (1-1), but had a lot of trouble doing so.
Because the Munich team had to fight for a long time for the three points. Andréas Hountondji had given the cheeky and courageously fighting guests an early lead on Saturday afternoon (6th), Raphaël Guerreiro equalized before the break for the furiously reacting Bayern (44th). As a result, the oppressively superior Munich team failed to convert their dominance into goals – and failed to do so three times at the post. It wasn’t until the third minute of added time that Luis Díaz redeemed Bayern. Substitute Nicolas Jackson then scored the final score (90+6).
Bayern coach Vincent Kompany emphasized, considering last year’s close results against Hamburg (1:0/3:2): “We know that it won’t be easy.” And he was right. First, Joshua Kimmich and Konrad Laimer misused the ball with improper passes. Then Min-Jae Kim, who represented the rested defense chief Dayot Upamecano, allowed himself to be outplayed. And finally Manuel Neuer was surprised in the short corner.
After the 0-1 defeat, the former national goalkeeper was unemployed for a long time. The injury to Hountondji, who grabbed his back thigh after a challenge on the outside line, was the final signal for St. Pauli to shut down.
Lennart Karl almost punished this with his fine shot against the post. But all of Munich’s other offensive players seemed to lack greed and esprit. Too often the passes were too sloppy and too rarely anything surprising happened. Bishop’s next post hit required a deflected chance shot.
Then a chip ball from the advanced Kim found the left winger Díaz, who had been completely unregistered until then, who put the ball back with his heel as it fell. Guerreiro had no trouble from close range.
How dissatisfied Kompany was with the offensive efforts was shown by the inclusion of Michael Olise (46th), whom he had also initially rested. Laimer was substituted and Kimmich moved to the right-back position as in the national team.
The castling only had a limited effect: Olise was quickly in the game, but there was no real threat to score. And so Kompany also brought Serge Gnabry off the bench and the pressure increased a little. Harry Kane hit the post (81′) – then Munich struck twice in stoppage time.
