According to the OM, the group members, ranging in age from 18 to 31 years, regularly watched IS videos and instructional videos about making weapons and bombs and talked about intended attacks.
Seven suspects also watched an IS instructional video explaining how to make an explosive device and demonstrating how to carry out a terrorist attack with a knife, the court said on Thursday. “In the cases of these suspects, the serious objections on which the pre-trial detention is based are still present.” They have been detained since Thursday, September 23.
During the hearing on March 18, the lawyers expressed strong objections to the way in which tapped conversations were elaborated in the investigation. According to the defense, other things have been said than what the translators and agents have put on paper. The court has ruled that the criticized passages should be reworked.
The next hearing is scheduled for 19 May at the Schiphol Judicial Complex. A substantive hearing of the case is expected to take place this fall.
