Yvonne Coldeweijer thinks that her contract with a major media party like Talpa is good for her credibilityor the ability to be believed or trusted by others. “Embraced.”
After New Year’s Eve the time has come: the abdicated juice queen Yvonne Coldeweijer can be seen every working day on Net5 with a short talk show at eight o’clock in the evening, in which she discusses all kinds of showbiz news. In any case, it will not be a poor copy of RTL Boulevard or Shownieuws, she emphasizes in conversation with the weekly Party.
Cronyism
Yvonne wouldn’t even consider creating such a show section. “I am also very different myself, so that must be translated into the program. When I was asked by Talpa, I said: ‘If I am going to make something here, then I want to make something that I want to watch myself.’”
She continues: “I don’t watch RTL Boulevard or Shownieuws very often, for the reason that they are one with the stars. They practice a lot of favoritism and I don’t get the best content from that, because it is not just about news.”
Hazes juice
When Yvonne looks back on her juicing career, what is she most proud of? “I was most proud when André Hazes arrived at Schiphol. I had said all the time that he was in rehab in Spain, but no one else in the media said that.”
She continues: “The media went along with the story that he was in Spain for professional help in the media field. I posted at the time: Dutch press, you have to be at Schiphol so late, because then André will arrive there by plane. André arrived and it looked like Elvis Presley landing, there were so many media.”
Credible
It was really mega, says Yvonne. “André didn’t know how big he had become in the meantime, I think. For me, all the media that was there was a icing on the cake, because from then on I was also mentioned by name in the media as the source of messages. I was always avoided before that, and I fought for that for a long time.”
Her Talpa contract only gives her even more credibility, she concludes. “Now, with my TV contract, this is times three. I am now really embraced as someone who belongs, and that is nice.”
