After two seasons of absence, coach Bernardi’s team returned to Europe with an away victory in Poland, a success also for Orro’s Fenerbahce

BUDOWLANI LODZ-NOVARA 1-3 (25-20, 19-25, 23-25, 17-25)

I return with victory. After two seasons of absence, Novara returns to the women’s Champions League and wins success in Poland on its debut. On the first day of group B, the one where the battleship Fenerbahce also plays, coach Bernardi’s Igor beat Budowlani Lodz 3-1. A success that Novara achieved not without some difficulty. At the start the Piedmontese suffered the aggressiveness of the Polish team and, thanks also to a few too many errors, they lost 25-20. The German Lina Alsmeier led Novara’s reaction, initially starting on the bench and then taking over from the second set. The German spiker (15) and the opposite Tatiana Tolok (25) were the drivers of the comeback. A few too many difficulties instead for the Japanese Mayu Ishikawa and the Belgian Britt Herbots (5 points each). On 4 December, the second day with Novara hosting Alessia Orro’s Fenerbahce who in the meantime won easily 3-0 against the Portuguese Sport Lisboa and Benfica.
