European Commission: Belgian budget provisionally meets requirements, criminal proceedings suspended

Belgium is on the right track to comply with the obligations imposed under the excessive deficit procedure, which aims to reduce our country’s budget deficit to less than 3 percent by 2029. This became apparent during the presentation of budget reports of the Member States by the European Commission. An analysis based on the budget that was finalized on Monday will not follow until early next year.
