‘Jordi is not Johan’
“My heart jumped for joy,” says Fabian Nagtzaam when he saw the photo of Cruijff talking to the delegation from the Amsterdam club. The director of the Ajax supporters’ association thinks he is the right man to become technical director.
“He has gained experience in various positions in recent years. He also worked in a technical position at FC Barcelona for two years. And that is not a small club.”
These are big shoes for Cruijff to fill given the status his father has, both nationally and internationally. “He will always remain his son. What his father has achieved cannot be matched. Let us be aware that it is about Jordi. Give him the chance and then judge him purely as Jordi and not as Johan,” says Nagtzaam.
