Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has apologized after his angry outburst at the weekend. At the press conference before the Champions League game against Bayer Leverkusen, the Catalan said: “I’m ashamed when I see it. I don’t like it. I apologize to the cameraman.”
During his club’s 2-1 defeat at Newcastle United in the Premier League at the weekend, Guardiola lost his nerve and, among other things, attacked a cameraman. Guardiola initially sought a conversation with Newcastle professional Bruno Guimarães and had a heated debate with him.
Immediately afterwards, Guardiola clashed with the cameraman. The Man City head coach pushed the camera aside and spoke excitedly to the irritated cameraman. “I am who I am. Even after 1000 games, I’m not perfect and I make mistakes. I defend my team and my club,” said Guardiola. On Tuesday (9:00 p.m./DAZN) his team will welcome Leverkusen in the premier class.
