The demand for Snellmann’s new Light beef-pea powder has surprised the stores. The product that came into stores a week ago on Monday has run out of some stores.
– The novelty minced meat went on sale last week and it has clearly interested several customers. Due to high demand, the product has run out of some stores over the past week, says the sales manager Juhani Haara From the S group supermarket.
According to the branch, more products are constantly being delivered to stores and the availability situation is improving.
– According to the S group’s customer data, the product has been a product of the entire nation and it has been bought evenly across different age groups, Haara states in his e-mail message.
At Kesko, similar larger emptying of the shelves has not been observed.
The novelty, also titled ground beef, is so-called hybrid ground beef, which contains 70 percent ground beef and 30 percent pea protein.
Ground beef has already been both praised and criticized. The praisers included, for example, the singer Frederik, who spoke very sympathetically about the product in an interview with Iltalehti. The new minced meat has even been mocked in the Russian media. According to the Russian media, the product has told about Finland’s impoverishing conditions.
