Actually, EUSEXUA AFTERGLOW should just be one of those unspeakable deluxe editions that no album can do without these days and that are thrown onto the market a few months after the release of the actual album and don’t always offer any added value – just think of the countless versions of every Taylor Swift album.

FKA Twigs has now decided on a different path: EUSEXUA AFTERGLOW is a beast all her own. It still lives in the sound world of EUSEXUA, released in January 2025, somewhere between club music and pop, inspired by endless nights between bass and concrete. But it is independent – to stay in the logic of the club night that Twigs told with EUSEXUA, the afterglow accompanies the stumbling out of it.

However, FKA Twigs doesn’t give us a relaxed after-hours, but fluctuates between the need to run to the next club (“Love Crimes”), a tired crash into a cozy bed (“Cheap Hotel”), renewed euphoria (“Sushi”) and the melancholic, longing staggering into an indefinite tomorrow (“Stereo Boy”). With EUSEXUA, FKA Twigs seems to have caught an aesthetic wave that continues to fuel her creativity – and it’s pure joy to listen to her. And maybe go dancing again.
