The collector’s hearts of Foo Fighters fans are beating louder: Dave Grohl and Gibson have introduced a new guitar model – the DG-335 Artist Signature Model electric guitar, limited to just 50 pieces worldwide. It is almost identical to the Alpine White DG-335 that Grohl has been playing at Foo Fighters concerts since 2021.
The guitar was for sale on the Gibson side – for a whopping 12,199 euros each. Gibson describes the rare limited edition model as follows: “With Alpine White nitrocellulose lacquer. Three-ply maple/poplar/maple body with binding and rimmed diamond soundholes, mahogany neck with custom Dave Grohl profile, rosewood fingerboard with celluloid split diamond inlays, TonePro’s ABR-1 bridge and stopbar tailpiece, Custombucker pickups”. There was also a soundhole label signed by the artist and a hard case.
The coveted piece is now sold out at Gibson. There is still no time for Foo fans to worry, because the band is currently delivering one good news after another: the Foo Fighters are going on a European tour in 2026. Dave Grohl, Nate Mendel, Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett, Rami Jaffee and Ilan Rubin will also perform in Germany – on June 17th in Munich and on July 1st in Berlin. Tickets that have been on sale since November 13th are still available at Eventim for seats in higher price categories.
New drummer Ilan Rubin
The world tour will also lead through the USA in 2026. There had previously been a sensational change in the live line-up: in mid-September 2025, the Foo Fighters played their first concert with the new drummer Ilan Rubin. The former Nine Inch Nails drummer joined the band in the summer after the group unexpectedly parted ways with Josh Freese. Freese stepped in after the death of longtime drummer Taylor Hawkins in 2022.
At the California gig, Grohl introduced Rubin with the words: “Everyone else has said it, now I get the chance to say it: ‘Ladies and gentlemen, will you please welcome…’ The toughest motherfucker of them all – Ilan Rubin now plays drums in the Foo Fighters. It’s official. You can stamp the passport.”
Fresh single
Just in time for the tour announcement, the Foo Fighters have released a new song: “Asking for a Friend”. The Oct. 23 track is “a song for everyone who waited patiently in the cold, relying on hope and faith that their horizon would emerge,” Grohl said, according to “Consequence of Sound.” “Looking for evidence while holding on to a wish until the sun shines again.”
At the beginning of October, the band also released the new live album “Foo Fighters – Are Playing Where ??? Vol. 1” on Bandcamp.
