Awesome – Gemma boys!
There is currently one success after another for Austrian football! After a good European Championship qualifying round, a strong European Championship (despite the bitter exit) and now the qualification for the World Cup for the A team, the young wild ones are now showing their skills! The U19 and U21 of the Austrian national team also play a solid role in their qualifying groups and lead their groups.

Of course, there is still a long way to go for the young 16/17-year-olds into adult football, but if only three or four of them can establish themselves in the A squad in the long term, that would be a success. From the U-19, I see Grgic and Trummer as two players who, like Wurmbrand, can make it into the national team early, just like Baidoo, Hödl and Sattlberger from the U-21. Overall, Austria is well positioned in the IV and in the central midfield for the short and medium term future; There are also some solid options in goal. But there is clearly a lack of fast wingers and especially strikers. Unfortunately, not much comes after Arnautovic and Gregoritsch. Adamu has not yet asserted himself and with Florucz we still have to wait and see.

In terms of football, Austria has been on a good path for several years and it is now important to consolidate this. And that’s only possible if the youth boys continue to celebrate successes like the U-17s have right now – congratulations!
