The FC Bayern Women continue to show strong form in the Champions League. Against Paris St. Germain in the fourth game of the league phase, the Munich team showed that being behind doesn’t bother them at the moment.

After the goal from Sakina Karchaoui (16′), Linda Dallmann (17′) sank the quick answer into the Paris goal. Momoko Tanikawa (34′) took the lead 2-1. Jovana Damnjanovic (76′) made the final score 3-1 perfect. After the third win, coach José Barcala’s team is almost certain of the play-offs and direct qualification for the quarter-finals is still within reach.

FCB women with tailwind to Paris

The double winners were after 3-2 spectacle against defending champions Arsenal FC traveled to Paris with a broad chest. The pressure was on PSG, as Paulo César’s team had yet to win a point in the first three games of the league phase.

The Munich women were better in the game right from the start. Although there was little to be seen offensively from Paris and José Barcala’s team worked well against the ball, Sakina Karchaoui surprisingly took the lead in the 16th minute with the first compelling shot on goal of the game.

Dallmann & Co can fall behind

The PSG captain used a physical deception to create space against Franziska Kett and successfully shot from a good 15 meters. However, the goal was no shock for the Munich team, who shook themselves briefly and showed that they can deal with a deficit. Linda Dallmann (17′) immediately equalized.

The Bayern women continued to get going early and barely allowed PSG to find their way into their game. In return, they attacked the hosts with offensive actions and showed themselves to be imaginative. Momoko Tanikawa faked a shot in the 34th minute, but then surprisingly pulled past Elisa De Almeida and Olga Carmona and scored powerfully to make it 2-1. Goalkeeper Mary Earps had no chance as the ball deflected unstoppably under the crossbar.

Paris has to score!

Paris St. Germain had to score points to stay in the premier class. But the guests from Bavaria came out of the locker room stronger. The 3-1 was in the air shortly after the restart, De Almeida deflected Klara Bühl’s (48′) sharp shot.

However, the game was not over yet, as the FCB women were repeatedly negligent and the Parisians were unnecessarily dangerous in front of Mahmutovic’s goal. The keeper was challenged and was able to prevent the equalizer in the 69th minute.

Damnjanovic puts the lid on it

Shortly afterwards, Pernille Harder (73′) had the preliminary decision on her foot, but she circled Tanikawa’s template onto the aluminum. Freshly substituted Jovana Damnjanovic (76′) missed a lightning start. De Almeida blocked her shot.

In a heated final phase, the striker was spot on in the 89th minute. Alara headed a cross from Bühl to Damnjanovic, who confidently converted to make the final score 3-1.
