In the market value update of the Finnish Veikkausliiga, the biggest winner comes from Guinea: Mohamed Toure (20). The striker from reigning champion and cup winner Kuopion Palloseura climbs by 300,000 to 500,000 euros this calendar year after 14 goals in 39 appearances across all competitions. Only three players are rated higher and are jointly at the top of the market value.
Until this update, defender Ibrahim Cissé (26), also from Kuopion, was the sole frontrunner – market value: 600,000 euros. Teammate Otto Ruoppi (19) and Kasper Paananen (22) from SJK Seinäjoki are now joined by two more players. Youngster Ruoppi scored 19 goals in 42 appearances at national level this year, he was upgraded by 200,000 euros, Paananen (23 scorers in 37 games) by 150,000 euros. A total of 15 players improve their market value by at least 100,000 euros.
The biggest devaluation is for Vasilije Bakic (25). The Ilves Tampere defender drops by 350,000 to 200,000 euros. A total of eleven professionals are up for at least 100,000 euros – including ex-Schalke player Teemu Pukki (35, HJK Helsinki). Due to age, the country’s record goalscorer drops to 400,000 euros. He recently ended his career in the national team. Former Karlsruher Daniel O’Shaughnessy (31; HJK Helsinki) is also among the losers – for him it goes from 250,000 to 150,000 euros.
