Tina Nijkamp has taken over Angela de Jong’s role as the main TV announcer in talk shows. Is her working method similar to that of the AD opinion diva? No, says the abacus from Bathmen.
It was one of the reasons for Angela de Jong to stop her TV columns: hanging on the couch late into the night to watch all possible TV programs. The imprint of her remote control is still etched into her palms. Does Tina Nijkamp do that now too? Does she now also walk around with square TV eyes?
Like Angela?
The Party presents it to Tina when they encounter her on the red carpet of the Luminiscence light show in Delft, of which her husband Jasper van der Schalie is one of the directors. “We know from former TV critic Angela de Jong that she watched television day and night. Does that also apply to you?”
Tina then says: “Not me, you know. No, not at all. I don’t want that either, I don’t feel like it. I think in advance what I’m going to watch. And if there is something current that explodes, you can of course see it on X these days.”
Talk shows
When Tina watches TV, it is mainly talk shows. “What’s nice is that it is current and live, so you have the feeling that something can always happen. The unexpected is so nice. For example on Netflix, when I watch a series, I often don’t have the patience to watch it. Then I think: come on, hurry up. I will then go straight to the last episode.”
Who does she think is the biggest TV promise? “I think Renze Klamer is a great promise. I hope he has a better year than the end of this year, because the start went well. I also hope that next year will be the comeback of Merel Westrik.”
No longer on TV
Merel is really good, according to Tina. “I saw her on Wie Is De Mol? and thought: what a shame that she is no longer on TV. Merel is not really a promise, because she is already over forty, but still. Robbert Rodenburg is doing well on the streaming services, which do not have many promises.”
She concludes: “And who I surprisingly liked this year: Hila Noorzai, in her talk show Vier Avonden Op Rij. I honestly didn’t expect that.”
