Model and social media influencer Sabina Särkkä36, and media personality Sara Sieppi34, answer listeners’ questions Sieppi & Särkkä on the podcast.
One of the questions is about what they feel they have been misunderstood about. Särkkä immediately brings up the flour gang statement.
The matter is related to the videos that went viral in 2022 of the then prime minister Sanna Marini40, about partying. One of the most talked about details was the use of the word “flour gang” in the video. In Helsinki, recreational drug users generally refer to amphetamine or cocaine with the word jahuo. Särkkä was involved in the raucous party.
During her time as Prime Minister, Sanna Marin sparked a debate due to, among other things, the Kesäranta photo and the party videos that spread on social media. Photo from January 2022. Petteri Paalasmaa
In the episode, Särkkä says that he can still hear about the commotion in question.
– Last week I received a #Jauhojengi tag, which annoys me beyond measure. Especially since I don’t do drugs.
– Yes, I’m in on the commotion. It’s the picture that should never have been taken or published, he continues.
Särkkä refers to the shocking photo taken in Kesäranta in 2021, where Marin’s two guests were holding a Finland sign over their breasts. The picture was originally published on Särkä’s Tiktok account.
– I still want to apologize for that. But the flak we’ve gotten for that is shocking. It still touches me a lot, the model says in the episode.
Särkkä also wants to open the moment of birth of the horror film. According to the model, they received an invitation and were there for a picnic. Särkkä says that the picnic was full of laughter and songs.
– So we haven’t really visited the official residence there, there was a terrible rumor about it. We were downstairs in the public restrooms and there happened to be the sign we had taken this photo from. I still deeply regret it, says the model.
– I feel like I haven’t been able to properly apologize for it. This is a topic that I might find difficult to discuss, he reflects.

Sieppi points out that Marin has shared his own view of the commotion in a recently published article Hope is action in his book. When Siepi asks, Särkkä says that he has not been allowed to tell his own version of the events.
– Yes, it hurts that I haven’t been able to present my own opinion. Yes, it has touched many. The crap storm we’ve had, says Särkkä.
– I hope that maybe someday the rest of us will also be understood a little. And sometimes we get over it, and it wouldn’t be a huge fuss, he states.
