Esmeralda Miter’s war with the Saguiers has no return. The daughter of the former director of La Nación has between her eyebrows the mysterious Marquis Federico Spínola, of Swiss nationality and resident in Monaco, who kept 21 percent of the group’s stock package, buying his share during his lifetime from Bartolomé.

According to Esmeralda and her lawyers, who took the case to court, this operation was irregular and her father had actually been defrauded. The actress believes that Spínola is a front man and that his enemies in the newspaper, the Saguiers, cousins of the Mitre, are hiding behind him.

“My brother, Bartolomé, is a repentant witness to the sale, the supposed sale that did not exist,” says Esmeralda. “He said that he forged my father’s signature. In other words, he signed in his place. That is why we say that such a transaction, such a sale, does not exist. Spínola, who no one knows who he is, is keeping those shares of ours.”

Esmeralda contacted the marquis in 2022 to inform him that she would take him to court. Spínola responded: “You are making a lot of trouble for me in Argentina. I bought well, I put the money in!”
