The PRO does not give up or dilute. On November 12, with Mauricio Macri at the helm at the Balcarce 412 headquarters, the party’s National Council met to redefine its strategy against La Libertad Avanza (LLA) and the new Congress that will take office on December 10. The conclusion was unanimous: there will be no interblock with the ruling party.

The message that Macri transmitted at the opening pointed out that the PRO must innovate again and recover its role as a force that offers hope to society. Vidal reinforced that line by stating that the bloc will act independently to represent the ideas and values of the party. The decision seeks to preserve the yellow identity and position the PRO as an alternative for 2027, leaving the Macrista core with 16 loyal deputies willing to negotiate “law by law” with the Government of Javier Milei, but without giving up sovereignty.

The October flight – when eight deputies aligned with Patricia Bullrich migrated to Martín Menem’s bench – shrank the original bloc, but reinforced cohesion among those who respond directly to Macri. Cristian Ritondo, ratified as president of the bloc, leads this group that prioritizes autonomy over organic integration. They will accompany key reforms such as labor, tax or the 2026 Budget, although with dissidence on sensitive points, such as automatic co-participation to the City. “We support 85% of what the Government proposes, but without losing our essence,” said Ritondo after the summit.

The closing of the meeting was given by Fernando de Andreis, a history of Macriism who returns to Deputies for the City: “The most important thing today is that those of us who have to be there are there, especially those of us who want to be there.” And he added: “Pro has a huge future; we committed to working to become an alternative again in Argentina and in each district. We are going to support the reforms.”

With that message, the 16 legislators make their position clear: support yes, delivery no. In a fragmented Congress, they will be few but decisive. The PRO is reorganized and a new stage begins on December 10.
