It’s court time. And Kylian Mbappé is demanding a hefty bill from PSG, before the labor judges. In fact, the champion demands that the Emir of Qatar’s club pay him 55.4 million euros in back wages and bonuses, which were not paid when he was still playing in the French capital and relations degenerated into an open conflict. The attacker hopes to obtain a favorable ruling (expected on 16 December) also on the jurisprudence of the trial won by Adrien Rabiot against PSG, also called to respond to the accusations of Kheira Harmaoui, a former Parisian who was attacked in 2021 and ended up at the center of a sports media intrigue, amid stories of competition with a former colleague and aftermath of jealousy caused by an extramarital affair.

PSG’s defense

In short, it is a busy day on the judicial front, even if the Parisian club has many arguments to make. Especially in the face of Mbappé’s request that he would like to have his fixed-term contract reclassified into a permanent relationship, thus contesting an unconventional break induced by a mobbing strategy. This is what the Rossoneri Rabiot managed to obtain in June, regarding the exclusion from the squad of which he was the victim in 2019, before moving to Juventus. However, the midfielder could rely on a renewed contract in 2014, i.e. before parliament legislated on the matter, establishing the fixed-term contract as the reference agreement for high-level athletes. Consequently, Mbappé’s request may not be accepted, at least in the formal part. However, it remains to be demonstrated, as the club claims, that in the summer of 2023 there was an agreement according to which the attacker agreed to renounce the expected bonuses for a salary similar to the one claimed. While according to the player, this “gentleman agreement” would have been betrayed by the desire to marginalize him starting from the moment he announced that he would leave PSG at the end of the 2023-24 season.

bars and betrayals

Hamraoui instead asks for damages of 3.5 million, due to lack of support when in 2021 he was the victim of an attack with a bar. The investigations were initially aimed at colleague Aminata Diallo and her entourage, in the context of competition events between clubs and the national team. Then the relationship with Eric Abidal was evoked during his time at Barcelona and a possible revenge from his wife: a lead that was never confirmed. In any case, Hamraoui left PSG, also boycotted by the locker room, and found a place at Al Hilal, in Saudi Arabia. But he still asks the Emir of Qatar’s club for the bill.
