Jutta Leerdam (1,000 meters) won gold in Salt Lake City at the first World Cup competitions of this season. And while she was still struggling with her health at the NK distances at the beginning of this month: she had been suffering from her groin for a long time. “I’m finally hitting him again. I started riding different blades and I’m going fast now,” said the sports star.
‘Really very funny’
It is surprising, says political reporter Frits Wester. He thought Jutta’s performance would suffer because of her relationship with wild American influencer Jake Paul.

When she got into a relationship with Jake Paul, I thought: she now finds herself in a completely different world, with lots of money, parties and I don’t know what else, internet videos, Instagram.”
Train fanatically
Frits feared the worst. “I thought: that will be at the expense of her career and will she continue to train so fanatically? She is an enormous talent and a very good skater.”
He continues: “The great thing is: she continues to perform at that very high level, despite the jet-set life she now suddenly leads and where she lets us all watch. I think that is very impressive.”
