The German U20 national team clearly won the first of two international matches during the course in Oliva Nova, Spain. The DFB youngsters beat the Romanian selection 6-0. On Monday afternoon, coach Hannes Wolf’s team will face Italy in the same place.

The most striking player on Friday was Paris Brunner, who scored a hat-trick (7th, 35th, 43rd). The other goals were scored by Taylan Bulut (16th), Max Moerstedt (83rd) and Noah Darvich with a penalty kick (87th). After taking the early lead, goalkeeper Tim Pfeiffer prevented the Romanians, who were pushing for an equalizer, from reacting quickly. In addition, the post once stood in the guests’ way.

Triple goalscorer Brunner was trained at Borussia Dortmund, among others, and signed with AS Monaco in August 2024 in order to immediately join partner club Cercle Bruges on loan. Last summer he returned to the Monegasques, where the 19-year-old Brunner has only played 82 minutes in Ligue 1 so far. In Bruges, the Dortmund native managed six goals in 28 games in 2024/25.
