Already in the summer there were repeated rumors about Serhou Guirassy’s departure from Borussia Dortmund. These are now likely to pick up speed again, because according to a “Bild” report, the attacker’s advisor is exploring the market again. He is said to have offered the 29-year-old to various, undisclosed clubs in Saudi Arabia, to which his release clause does not apply.

Guirassy came to BVB from VfB Stuttgart in the summer of 2024 for 18 million euros and has impressed with his goalscoring qualities ever since. Recently, however, there has been increasing criticism of the Guinea international because he only scored one goal in the last six Bundesliga games. Guirassy has seven goals and four assists in 15 games this season. The 26-time national player is spending the international break in Dortmund to prepare for the end of the year.

In the summer, Guirassy’s consulting agency KGSMI, which is run by his brother Karamba, is said to have sought talks with several top clubs. The report does not reveal which clubs these are. An exit clause of 70 million euros is anchored in his contract, which runs until 2028 – but only top clubs such as FC Barcelona, Real Madrid or Manchester City can activate this. Clubs from Saudi Arabia are not part of the agreement.

The big incentive for moving to the desert state is likely to be the salary. In Dortmund, Guirassy reportedly earns 9 million euros gross per year; according to the report, he can expect at least double that in Saudi Arabia. If a transfer were to materialize, he would currently be the most valuable professional in the Saudi Pro League with a market value of 45 million euros, along with Mateo Retegui and Darwin Núñez.
