Dawson’s Creek & Varsity Blues items are sold

For the upcoming auction, the mime is working with the auction house “Propstore”. From December 5th to 7th, collectibles from the classic series “Dawson’s Creek” and “Varsity Blues”, both of which starred James Van Der Beek, will be offered as part of the “Winter Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction”.

The background to the campaign is the third stage of colon cancer, which the actor wants to finance with it, as he explained in an interview with “People”. The 48-year-old told the magazine: “I’ve been storing these treasures for years, waiting for the right time to do something with them, and given all the unexpected turns life has taken recently, it’s clear that time is now.”

Necklace, flannel shirt & also cleats included

The centerpiece of the auction is the necklace that Dawson Leery (played by Van Der Beek) gave to Joey Potter (Katie Holmes) in “Dawson’s Creek” as a sign of their deep commitment to prom. The auction site estimates its value at between 22,000 and 45,000 euros. According to Rolling Stone, other items in the auction include Dawson’s flannel shirt, which he often wore throughout the series.

Some of the equipment from “Varsity Blues” will be offered – including the cleats and the West Canaan Coyotes cap.

Farewell with a laughing and a crying eye

The American actor feels “nostalgia” when parting with items with high emotional value. At the same time, he is excited to “share it with those who have supported my work over the years,” he told People.

Current health status?

It is unclear how James Van Der Beek’s health is currently doing. Most recently, he said that after having to take a long break due to cancer treatment, he didn’t want to give up acting overall. Nevertheless, it would be important to him to be able to provide for his wife and six children. What his financial situation actually looks like remains unclear.
