A 23-year-old man from Dalen was arrested today on suspicion of involvement in an assault in Coevorden. What exactly his role was is still being investigated further, the police said.
“The investigation continues, we do not rule out that more people will be arrested,” said a police spokesperson.
This is the second arrest in this case. An underage boy from Coevorden was arrested on Monday. He may also be involved in the assault, which took place last July in the Bentheimerstraat in Coevorden.
Both suspects are in custody and are being interrogated.
The police previously shared images of the assault. They threatened to make the perpetrators recognizable if they did not report within a week.
The images show how a few people are beaten up by a group of young people. That happened on the night of July 5 to 6. Because new clues have emerged in the investigation, the images were taken offline last week.
