He continues: “Well, if you go to a World Cup, European Championships or the Olympic Games or in this case to Lady Gaga, you are not surprised that a hundred people point their phones at Willem-Alexander and Máxima. The RVD then asks the official media not to post it, but you see it popping up everywhere and they don’t have much trouble with that.”

That attention is taken into account, says Evert. “It is striking that they often do that. She was with The Ladies of Soul last year and we have already seen her dance to Armin van Buuren. But really going to a concert by such a big star as Lady Gaga is quite exceptional. I don’t see very many royal couples doing that.”
