FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) – German arms values fell after HENSOLDT’s new targets on Tuesday. “The medium-term prospects of the radar specialist are not well received by the market,” commented stock expert Frederik Altmann from Alpha Securities Trading. “That’s weighing on stocks today, even if the long-term prospects appear intact.”

The Hensoldt paper temporarily lost a little more than 9 percent during the capital market day. In the afternoon it lost eight percent to 87.40 euros, which still represents an increase of just over 150 percent in the year to date. This means that the share takes third place in the MDAX of medium-sized stocks after RENK and thyssenkrupp.

Rheinmetall (Rheinmetall) fell by 3.9 percent to 1,717.00 euros in the DAX and RENK lost 3.5 percent to 63.59 euros. However, both remained within their recent trading range. Rheinmetall’s price increase since the beginning of 2025 is still 180 percent. During the same period, Renk rose by almost 250 percent and Thyssenkrupp by just over 200 percent. They are all benefiting from the continued arms boom.

“In their armament rush, investors were expecting significantly higher growth figures,” explained stock expert Andreas Lipkow. “This had already caused price losses for the shares of Rheinmetall and Renk in the past few trading weeks.” As far as the radar specialist is concerned, market participants expected greater scalability of products and services. “Now these assumptions are being corrected.”

The targeted operating result (Ebitda) for 2026/27 is around seven percent below the average analyst forecast, calculated analyst David Perry from JPMorgan. He now expects consensus estimates to fall.

For analyst Chloe Lemarie from Jefferies, Hensoldt’s forecasts for 2030 are in line with expectations, but the growth is “concentrated in the later phases. And that has a negative impact on the targets for 2026. Hensoldt’s forecast for 2026 assumes growth of around 10 percent and an improvement in the Ebitda margin of around 50 basis points – which means that these targets are each below the Consensus forecast also highlighted it as a negative factor for the share./ck/men/jha/
