A victory without special effects, in a photo finish, competing to see who makes the least mistakes. Yet very precious. Philadelphia beats Lambeau Field in Green Bay on a cold evening on Monday Night which closes the tenth NFL day. He wins 10-7, rises to a 7-2 record, maintains the provisional no. seed. 1 Conference, of the NFC. The defense reminds everyone who the reigning champions are, keeps the Packers without points until 6′ from the end, then makes the decisive stop in the final seconds, inexorably. Green Bay disappoints once again. The 5-3-1 record is decent, but expectations were different, especially for the offense. The second knockout in a row at home, after the one against Carolina, becomes a mortal sin, the mediocrity of Jordan Love, the quarterback who should take them to the Super Bowl according to the franchise’s plans, is disheartening. The defense is superb, but it can’t work miracles.

PHILADELPHIA SCENARIO

The third victory in a row resembles many others: nothing sensational, but in the end the score proves the usual suspects right. The defense is damn solid, further strengthened by Jaelan Phillips, immediately decisive as soon as he arrived from Miami, and by Jaire Alexander, still out of action. Veteran Brandon Graham returned from retirement to be a part of it. The attack goes in spurts, however. Jalen Hurts, as we know, is charismatic and runs like a tractor, but he is not an elite pitcher, a waste with targets like DaVonta Smith and AJ Brown and Sequon Barkley has fewer gaps than last season available for runs. But under pressure they are all talents capable of pulling off the decisive play: they are not afraid, they know how to do it.

GREEN BAY SCENARIO

The defense is superb. With Micah Parsons leading the way, he conceded a maximum of 16 points in the three defeats of the season. But the offense is terrible, even though Josh Jacobs is an excellent running back. Love works too hard, the receivers too, the injury to tight end Tucker Kraft, lost for the rest of the season, is a disaster. It’s difficult to think of who knows what reversals, these are the cards in hand and the Division, the NFC North, is complicated. The Packers are in trouble.

THE MATCH

Hurts fumbles at the end of the 1st quarter, the Packers don’t take advantage. An injury on each side plagues the offensive line: Philly’s tackle, Lane Johnson, leaves in the 2nd quarter (knee), the same fate shortly after for Packers center Elton Jenkins (ankle). A fumble by Jordan Love with 23″ left in the first half means that the score at halftime is 0-0. Incredible. Credit to the defense, but also the fault of the attacks. Love has just 39 yards of throws, Hurts 48. First NFL game of the season without a score at half-time, it hasn’t happened since 2009 on a Monday Night. Jake Elliott sends the field goal from 39 yards to make it 3-0 Philly in the 3rd period, the score follows 45′. Then the Eagles extend on Hurts’ 36-yard throw to Smith. A powerful run by Josh Jacobs reopens the game. And, in a twist, Johnson returns to Green Bay, but Brandon McManus’ desperation kick from 64 yards fails. it doesn’t even come close to the mark. As usual, the reigning champions win.
