Elkann compared the F1 drivers to the drivers of Ferrari’s long-distance team who won the World Team Championship the same weekend in Bahrain. He expressed his doubts about the unity within the F1 team, where the mechanics and engineers do good work, but “if you look at the rest, things are not good.”

On X, Leclerc seems to respond to Elkann’s words. The Monegasque said: “A very difficult weekend in São Paulo. Disappointing to come home with so few points for the team, at a crucial moment in the season when we are fighting for second place in the Constructors’ Championship. It’s all uphill from here and it is clear that only unity can help us turn that situation around in the last three races. We will do everything we can, as always.”
Following Leclerc, his teammate Hamilton also responded a few hours later, but the Briton’s words were a lot more fiery. “I support my team, I support myself and I will never give up. Not now, not then and never. Brazil, thank you.”
