Telegraaf journalist Jordi Versteegden thinks it is more than logical that Talpa was not interested in the Lieve Gordon & Andy program. The pilot has appeared online and: “What does Andy actually add?”
In the summer, John de Mol put an end to the launch of Gordon and Andy van der Meijde as a new TV duo. The Talpa boss had seen the pilot of their program Lieve Gordon & Andy and was not impressed. The reason? He thought Andy was far too tame. Andy has now put the pilot on his YouTube channel and it shows: it is indeed very tame.
Disturbing factor
Telegraaf journalist Jordi Versteegden has looked at it and is not impressed. “Andy is just laughing and doesn’t add much in terms of text. You can see that in those twenty minutes. He hardly says anything. It’s just: hahahaha. It is the best audience for Gordon, but the real audience remains Gerard.”
He continues Show news: “It also doesn’t add much to Hazes & Hoogkamer, who of course make a similar program. I have to say, in the context of dosing, before I’m just sour about Gordon: I think he can carry this on his own. I think Andy is a bit of a disturbing factor here.”
Laughter track
Show news presenter Eva Vloon agrees. “If you want a laugh track, you can also put a real laugh track behind it.”
Jordi: “Yes, that is it, so no, I understand that they did not broadcast this on SBS 6. Maybe they will put it on YouTube and there will be an audience for it. A solo program for Gordon would be fine.”
Sexually explicit
It did not come as a surprise to Jordi that Andy and Gordon do not work as a TV duo. He points to their attempt to play Eurovision commentator. “I thought that was disgusting and terrible. I just didn’t think it was funny and it was just sex jokes. Dosing also seems useful to me.”
How TV authority Tina Nijkamp describes the pilot Lieve Gordon & Andy? “It’s a kind of Heart in Action, but with a lot of sexually explicit jokes.”
So it doesn’t sound very enthusiastic.
