Freiburg wants to put an end to their small decline, while the Werkself want to jump into the top three. It will certainly be an exciting encounter and we are looking forward to the next 90 minutes.

The Breisgau women definitely want to win today, and not just to counteract the downward trend. The Werkself are slowly developing into the feared opponents of today’s hosts. Freiburg have not been able to win against Leverkusen for six league games. Five of the six duels were even lost. The sports club has a lot to make up for and would like to turn things around this evening.

There are also two changes in the starting line-up for the guests. Starting between the posts again this evening is Charlotte Voll, who returns to the Werkself box after her red card suspension. In addition, head coach Roberto Pätzold is making a change in central defense. Lilla Turányi starts in the back four for Melissa Friedrich.

This was clear against VfL Wolfsburg, but thanks to their consistent performance, Leverkusen can dream of a European place early in the season. They currently have 19 points and are in fifth place. However, with a point win they would move past Bremen and Frankfurt and end the tenth matchday in the top three. The Werkself are going into this away game with a lot of confidence and want to celebrate their third win in a row and move up to third place with a win in Freiburg.

After a decent start to the season, there have been small setbacks for the women of SC Freiburg recently. In the Bundesliga, Freiburg suffered three defeats in a row. There were zero points against 1. FC Nürnberg, Leipzig and on the last matchday against TSG Hoffenheim, meaning the Breisgau team fell back to eighth place in the table. The Freiburg women finally need something countable again so that they can keep up with the European places. We are currently six points behind third place. The hosts want to celebrate another success under the floodlights of Freiburg.
