Victor Vlam has received a lot of criticism for his views on the Marco Borsato case. According to the TV critic, there is so little evidence that the case should be dismissed. “Think about it a lot.”
TV critic Victor Vlam has been highly praised for a period in Today Inside, mainly because of the talking mustache of the program: Johan Derksen. However, last week he received strong criticism from the opinion maker, because he believes that Victor is making a lot of mistakes with statements about the fallen singer Marco Borsato.
Criticism of Victor
Johan thinks Victor is messing up. “He shouldn’t exaggerate. I thought he had nice opinions, but he is now starting to feel like an authority and he came to the conclusion that the Borsato case should be dismissed. Let’s leave that to the judge and not to Victor Vlam, eh? He is now starting to overestimate himself a bit.”
In particular, table guest Job Knoester went wild in VI: “But Victor is a trick. He goes somewhere and then he knows in advance how he is going to achieve an effect and that is what he does. He does that here too. I think he can express his opinion, but it can also be damaging of course.”
Contrary opinion
What does Victor think of this? “My position on Borsato was reviewed quite critically and it was said: ‘That Victor is just shouting.’ I do indeed regularly have contradictory opinions and if you want to call that my trick, that is of course completely fine, but I do think carefully about the things I say and I stand by it.”
He continues in the section Victor Indicates TV: “If people fall all over me, I keep a cool head and stand by it if I believe in it. It’s not like I shout this one day and shout that the next, just to create a fuss and run away quickly. No, I really stand by it.”
Great virtues
Victor stands for his spicy opinions. “I think that is an important quality at a time when there is a lot of political correctness and where keeping in line has become one of the great virtues.”
He concludes: “I humbly think that there is added value in being a little contrarian every now and then.”
