A man attacked several people in Tilburg on Monday morning. This happened next to the Ringbaan-West near Nassauplein. The man was under the influence of drugs and could not be calmed down. Ultimately, he was tackled to the ground by a large group of officers. Paramedics had to sedate him to get him under control.
The police received a report in the morning of a man who allegedly attacked several people near the gas station on Ringbaan-West. None of the victims were injured, some of them were crying at the gas station and were visibly emotional.
After the attacks, the man ran onto the busy Ringbaan. The police responded extensively to get him under control. Ten police cars arrived on the scene and a group of officers eventually managed to overpower the man with great difficulty.
The man continued to scream and could not be calmed down. He also turned out to be quite strong, several officers had to sit on top of him to hold him down.

Paramedics eventually administered a sedative injection to him. Officers were then able to strap him onto a stretcher. And then he was taken to hospital under police escort.
Many passers-by saw the scene. Police briefly closed one lane.
