The former Prime Minister of Finland, Sanna Marin, held a news conference for the domestic media yesterday, Saturday, after a long time.

Over the years, Marin, who has attracted attention with her spectacular clothing choices, arrived at the event in a neutral black and white outfit, wearing a white jacket.

Iltalehti asked for a style expert Mirva Saukkolaa to evaluate the current representation style of the former prime minister and compare it to the old one.

– She is a beautiful and stylish person. In the earlier stage, she used to wear a lot of different patterned dresses, Uhana and the like. He used to wear Marimekkoa quite a bit, but now he has switched to such monochromatic outfits, Saukkola sums up.

We asked what Saukkola thinks Marini’s change of style tells us.

– During his time as a Member of Parliament, I could imagine that he wanted to bring more Finnish work and design to the fore. Now that he moves in more international circles, I could see that he wants to follow such a clear dress code, Saukkola reflects.

When comparing Marin to, for example, Suzanne Innes-Stubb, the wife of the president of the republic, Saukkola says that the styles are very similar, but partly different from each other.

– They are both very beautiful women who dress elegantly. Suzanne Innes-Stubb uses more Finnish elements. She had an evening dress designed by Klaus Haapaniemi and she has had, for example, this young master goldsmith Robert Tarkkanen jewelry made above. He brings out more of these Finnish experts.

– Sanna Marin, on the other hand, brings out more of that minimalist Scandinavian style. He does not bring out these designers so strongly.

In Saukkola’s opinion, both women have a very good sense of style.
