After more than three decades, Pisa achieved its first victory in Serie A – thanks to a German’s header.

The fans had to wait a long time – now it has finally happened again: Pisa has achieved its first victory in Serie A since May 1991. A late header from Idrissa Touré was enough to make it 1-0 (0-0) against Cremonese on matchday eleven.

The newcomer showed a committed performance at the beginning, but then came under more and more pressure. The decision was only made a quarter of an hour before the end: Touré, a native of Berlin and formerly under contract with Werder Bremen, scored with a header and secured Pisa’s first three points since being promoted again in the summer.

The last time Pisa won the first division was in May 1991, when they beat Bari 1-0. After that, Pisa didn’t play in Serie A for more than three decades.
