Mayor Onno Hoes of Tilburg has decided to close a house on Corellistraat for two weeks after the shooting that took place there on Tuesday evening. The measure was taken to restore public order in the area.

“Tuesday’s shooting has had a significant impact on local residents,” Hoes said. “They are angry, anxious or worried and I completely understand that. I am also very concerned. That is why I will be talking to residents and professionals on Monday afternoon about the events and what is needed to improve safety in the neighborhood.”

Blood trail
Many people were present in the residential area when the shooting took place around 6 p.m. According to police, the shooter could have hit innocent bystanders.

After the shooting, police found shell casings and officers saw a trail of blood in the street. A little later, two injured men reported to the hospital.

These 22-year-old and 30-year-old men have been arrested. They are suspected of involvement in the shooting. Police believe it was a targeted action.
