Will Bayern have a Bambi comeback soon? Coach Vincent Kompany’s team will face reigning winners Paris Saint Germain in the Champions League. Shortly before departure for the French capital, sports director Max Eberl commented on Jamal Mukalla’s early return.
We hope that in December he can at least have a few minutes with the team. That would be the ideal situation. But we always hope for positive thinking. But he is doing very, very well and the end is in sight. Let’s put it this way.
This news should make Bayern fans sit up and take notice. Mo Salah was seriously injured during the Club World Cup game against the Parisians in July.
So to be honest, what happened was dramatic for us and especially dramatic for Jamal. I have to say, it doesn’t resonate at all with tomorrow’s game for me. The nice thing is that he is doing much better now that his convalescence period has already reached the point where he can move around on the pitch. That’s always the most important thing for an athlete, that you can smell the grass again, feel the ball. It will still take some time.
And maybe Mo Salah will soon be enough for a few minutes in the Champions League.
