Pereira said at the press conference held after the match that this was not the result they expected and wanted. Underlining that they play to win every match, Pereira said, “We played against a good team. They are having a good season. They have very good players. I think they are one of the best playmaking teams in the league.” he said.
Pereira stated that they were good defensively today and did not concede a goal and continued as follows:
“My players did what I wanted. But we could do better offensively. We did it before. Until 2-3 weeks ago, we were one of the teams that took the most positions in the league. But we cannot take positions in the last two games. We can do this, we have good and quality players. We need to take more positions and work harder. It is my job to do this. If we want to take positions, I have to do it. I have to offer options to the team. What we all want is to take positions and score goals. This is my responsibility. If we can’t do it, I can see the mistake myself, but I will fix it by working harder.”
Reminding that they have collected 14 points in the league as of the last 11 weeks, Pereira noted that they are somewhere in the middle of the league.
Underlining that they should have more points, Pereira said, “Because we deserve more. We will win more. However, sometimes it is important not to lose when you cannot win a match. This happened today too. I cannot say that I am happy. I am not happy. I always want 3 points. When we look at the match, I can say that it was a fair result.” he said.
Joao Pereira explained that they need to raise their heads after this result and said, “We have a lot of matches to play and a lot of points to win. We need to get into more scoring positions, as we did in previous weeks. I think we will do these. We need to work hard to do this.” he said.
