In the live broadcast, Verho talked about, among other things, how people tend to name things that “don’t necessarily even need a name”.
From this, he moved the conversation to Iltalehti’s news, where it was reported that VR named its two new trains on Monday. The trains in question operating between Helsinki and Turku got their name Favorite and Grace.
– It will be interesting to see if these names come into people’s mouths. From now on, do you say you go by train or go “Lemmi there next?” Verho thought with a laugh on the air.
– I don’t know if that really happens. And do people really remember these names, unless the names of the trains, for example, are printed on their sides, he added.

The Lempi train started its first journey from Helsinki to Turku on Monday 3 November 2025 at 15:35.
– This is a historic moment, we rarely get to bring new equipment into domestic train traffic. To celebrate this, we wanted to name the trains, says VR’s director responsible for customer experience and service development Marika Schugk commented earlier on Monday to Iltalehti.
Schugk said that Lempi and Sulo are “sympathetic names that describe the comfort of the train as a form of travel and make the trains recognizable individuals”.
The trains running to Oulu are still waiting for their own names. The title contest, open to everyone, is underway. Names can be suggested on 10.11. until here.
