The ‘Halloween Dough Party pack’ has been confused with candy by some Action customers. They ate this themselves, but in some cases it was also handed out during door-to-door sales on Halloween. “So I thought I bought bacon. Please note: this is not candy but CLAY!” writes a woman on Facebook. Another woman says she feels incredibly stupid for mistaking the clay for bacon. “Three hours later I was still gagging!!”
Separately packaged dough bags
The confusion arose because the separately packaged ‘dough bags’ were located in the candy department in many stores. “Last night was our Halloween tour in Velm. Unfortunately, a resident made a mistake and handed out these so-called sweets,” writes a concerned mother on Facebook. “This is NOT candy. My son ate it and immediately spit it out! It smells good, but is not for consumption.”
Unpredictable consumer is frugal and generous at the same time
“I literally took a big bite out of one of those things from my son’s candy bag 10 minutes ago,” writes one parent on Reddit. “Because I thought it was licorice (black). I hung gagging over the sink. My girlfriend couldn’t wake up, by the way.”
Very annoying
De Action says it finds it very annoying that there has been confusion about this among customers. “Where the products were on the wrong shelf, this was an exception and it has now been corrected immediately,” a spokesperson said. The clay was part of a temporary Halloween range and is now no longer for sale.
