November 3, 2025 – 7:43 a.mReading time: 1 min.

Thomas Müller wants to add another trophy to his collection of titles soon. To do this, he first has to defeat an old friend in the MLS quarter-finals.
A particularly demanding task awaits Thomas Müller and the Vancouver White Caps in the quarter-finals of the MLS playoffs: the former Bayern professional’s club will face Los Angeles FC around the in-form Heung-Min Son.
The Californians clearly prevailed in their round of 16 duel against Austin FC. After the 3-2 first leg win, LAFC also won the second game 4-1 (3-1) and won the best of three series 2-0.
Son, who once played for Hamburger SV and Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga, impressed with a goal in the 21st minute and set up Denis Bouanga to make it 2-0 just a few minutes later (25th). Bouanga also scored shortly before the break to make it 3-0 (44th). In the first half, Hugo Lloris, former French national goalkeeper, saved a penalty from Myrto Uzuni (39th) and was again close to a save from Daniel Pereira’s penalty (45th + 6). Jeremy Ebobisse scored the final point in stoppage time (90+3).
Thomas Müller and the White Caps had previously prevailed against Dallas FC – with two wins in the round of 16 series. The quarter-finals will take place after the upcoming international break.
