Marco Borsato and those close to him will find the way he was mocked in Even Tot Hier appalling, says show expert Bart Ettekoven. “They have already had a hell of a week.”

It was inevitable: the men of Just Until Here really hit Marco Borsato head-on yesterday. The singer is suspected of having committed fornication with the then underage daughter of the woman who led his fan club for years, and with whom he also had an affair. He himself thinks that there is a revenge component in this case.

Borsato spot

One thing is certain: the stories that have surfaced about this mother, Nathalie T., can also be called transgressive, to say the least. Marco came up with all kinds of bizarre anecdotes during his case: from mother and daughter who are naked doing wallpapering to a mother who winks on the stairs that her daughter is naked in bed upstairs.

The Even Tot Hier duo Niels van der Laan and Jeroen Woe made a lot of fun with all these details in their show. The show started with Niels walking into the studio, with three young ladies in the background boobies to see flash. It is the start of a broadcast full of Borsato spots.

Close together

When at one point it comes to the elections, and PVV and D66 being so close to each other, Niels comments: “I would almost say: it is as close as a singer’s hand to…”

Jeroen a little later: “’The movement cannot be stopped’. We know that statement from Marco Borsato of course!”, after which he makes finger movements.

Mores

Marco’s statements about the family’s mores in particular provide material. Niels: “That’s always the case, isn’t it, with Marco Borsato. He always takes over his girlfriend’s things. He also often visited a family in Ruinerwold. He thought it was crazy, he thought it was strange. He spent seven years in the cellar, but yes, that was the custom there!”

Jeroen: “Yes, that’s Marco. He also visited the Taghi family very often. Someone was sometimes liquidated, but yes, you participated in that. That was the morals!”

Genius

What do they think? Show news of these jokes: painful or spot on? Show expert Eline de Ruig: “Those naked people are of course genius. Naked hanging wallpaper. That was something so specific from that courtroom that Marco named it that way. They have now exploited that.”

Colleague Bart Ettekoven: “I’m mainly thinking about Marco and his family. They have of course already had a hell of a week and when you turn on your television on Saturday evening… Anyway, if you are from the Borsato family, then you know that you should not watch Even Tot Hier tonight.”

Laughed about it

Bart was present at the Borsato trial this week. Can he laugh at Even Tot Hier? “No, yes, I secretly laughed about it. I’m very sorry. You wonder why he rubbed that stain himself, because he didn’t have to tell those kinds of details about the nude wallpapering.”

The show expert concludes: “He did that to create a kind of image and to outline the morals of the family, but when he said that in that courtroom, I already thought: this will somehow result in virals, and indeed Even Tot Hier tonight.”
