Art Rooijakkers is secretly ashamed that he has a contract with SBS 6, but he has a large mortgage to pay, says TV authority Tina Nijkamp. “He is being held hostage.”
It was uncomfortable television: Art Rooijakkers who was allowed to sit on the bench last week in Hélène Hendriks’ right-wing conservative talk show. It seems to me like a boy who has friends who only read that and when you say: ‘I’m doing a program for SBS 6’, those friends say: ‘Oh, SBS 6, what a dirty channel.'”
“He’s ashamed!”
Art’s friends are über correct, according to Tina. “Also from those people who say: ‘Oh, I haven’t had television for a long time, I don’t watch it at all, only occasionally.’ Those are his friends and that is why he is completely ashamed that he now works for SBS 6.”
She continues: “And also for his parents, because they are also such very correct people. That’s it. I saw that in that Oranjezomer fragment. He sits there and just thinks: when can I leave here again?”
‘I believe in it!’
Art sat with Hélène to promote his new reality show The Sword of Damocles. That starts tonight at the time of Hélène, who will not return for another two months.
Tina concludes: “I have to be honest: I believe in that program. I saw the promo and I thought it had a lot of emotion in it. It’s a kind of Traitors-like thing, it’s popular, it’s on on Sundays at half past ten and he can do that well. I always thought he was very good in Expedition Robinson and Peking Express.”
