Maldives is the first country in the world with a generational smoking ban: anyone born after 2007 is no longer allowed to smoke

The Maldives has had a smoking ban for the youngest generation in the country since Saturday. Anyone born in 2007 or later is prohibited from purchasing or using tobacco products. The ban will remain in effect for the rest of their lives. This makes the Maldives the first country in the world to have such a generational smoking ban.
